Our read

For runners who face wet, muddy, technical trails and want aggressive traction plus a dry foot; the deep lugs and GORE-TEX membrane define it, but at 340 g it's no featherweight.

Ride

Soft EnergyCell+ midsole with a 10 mm drop feels protective underfoot, but the deep, sharp lugs make it vague on hard or smooth surfaces. No plate, so protection comes from stack rather than a rock plate.

Fit

Runs largely true to size with a regular, somewhat snug width; the quickLACE system and Sensifit construction give a locked-down foothold. Narrow-footed runners tend to like it, wide feet may feel constrained.

Best for

Wet, muddy, and loose technical trails where maximum grip and a dry foot matter more than speed or road transitions.

Avoid if

You run mostly on hard-packed, smooth, or paved surfaces, or want a light, fast shoe; the aggressive lugs and GORE-TEX weight work against you there.
