Our read

A firm, low-slung mountain shoe for technical terrain and foul weather, now with room for wider feet. Buy it for control and traction on rock and off-camber trails, not for cushioned comfort.

Ride

Firm and low to the ground (19/13mm) with a 6mm drop, a forefoot EVA rock guard, and 4mm bi-compound lugs for grip on technical, off-camber terrain.

Fit

Performance last with a wide-fit option adding 7mm circumference and 2mm forefoot height, plus a sock-like slip-on construction. The GTX membrane keeps a true-to-size feel.

Best for

Runners tackling technical, wet, or snowy mountain trails who want ground feel, stability, and waterproofing, and who need a wider forefoot.

Avoid if

You want soft, high-stack cushioning for long road-to-trail miles or run mostly in hot, dry conditions where the GTX membrane traps heat.
