Our read

This is a specialist winter trail shoe rather than a versatile daily trainer. ASICS designed it explicitly for snowy, icy runs, combining a GORE-TEX invisible fit upper for waterproofing with integrated outsole spikes for grip on ice. FF BLAST PLUS foam and a raised stack promise cushioned protection, but at 375g (men) / 320g (women) it is heavy, and no independent testing confirms ride or durability claims.

Ride

ASICS claims a higher stack than the prior version with FF BLAST PLUS foam for cloud-like cushioning and responsive energy return, but firmness and real-world ride remain unverified by independent sources.

Fit

Offered in standard width for men and women; no independent fit data on sizing or volume is available.

Best for

Runners tackling snow- and ice-covered winter trails who need waterproof protection and spike traction in cold, wet conditions.

Avoid if

You want a lightweight, fast, or warm-weather shoe, or run primarily on dry non-technical terrain where a heavy waterproof spiked shoe is overkill.
